Lesson 8

1.People that have bad behavior need social emotional boosters.
2.My friend has good character because he is respectful and is responsible.
3.I displayed delayed gratification Instead of going to the movies on Friday, I finished my Science Project, then I went to the movies on Saturday.
4. If your friend is discouraging you and making you choose bad behavior, he or she is being a social emotional pollutant to you.
5.You can display self control when you control your behavior.
6. I have good self esteem because I feel good about myself and I am confident.
7.A person needs to have positive self esteem is confident about themselves.
8. If you have self respect it means you value yourself.
9.My dad has taught me to have good social emotional environment because he has taught to interact with everybody.

10 action to improve self esteem and self respect

  • Good Character: The words that describe you are a key to your value
  • Your values make up your character.
  • Values are standard and belief. Adults teach values by setting a standard of behavior. Adults teach Value system by setting examples for children to copy.
  • Self Control the degree which a person can regulate their behavior.
  •  If you have good character, you use self control to be responsible.
  • Delayed Gratification is postponing a reward so you can complete a task and then get the reward.
  • Good Character: Compassion is when you care for others needs, emotions wants and you are forgiving. Good Citizen ship is when you follow rules, laws, and respecting authority, and protecting the environment. Fairness is when you are fair, abide by the rules, good sport, and you don't take advantage of others.  Respect is when you treat others as you want to be treated and stay away from violence.
  • Responsibility: When you do what you promise. You are accountable for the decisions you make. Trust Worthy is when your dependable, honest, and loyal. Honesty is when you refuse to lie, steal or mislead.
  • Self Respect: Behaving in Responsible ways.
  • How to maintain self respect: good character check, if you're doing anything that is un responsible you do not have good character. Control the beliefs that motivate you. You have to believe in yourself. Don't be around people that bring you down. Choose actions that promote self respect. If people see that you choose to make actions that show that you have self respect they will also respect you. Make a list of your responsible actions and review your list often. A person has to see you 26 time in order for a person to change their view about you. 
  • Be a friend to yourself by enjoying activities by yourself. Write your feeling in a journal.
  • Let other people know what helps you feel special.
